Personally, this picture basically explained how smart and elegant the Honda Civic Ferio if the set up was correct. This picture was taken from Google, but it is one of the best picture and still kept it till now. It was just simply stunning, simple and have a "Wow" factor on it. 25 years old car but still look smart and handsome.

EG9 Original Rear Gathers Speaker Set - Yes, that is mandatory item for those Honda Civic EG9 Lovers who want to complete up their EG9 conversion project. This item was also quite difficult to get, esspecially to find it in a very excellent condition. Normally it was found broken or damaged esspecially at the speaker cover.

Being a part time Honda Half Cut runner somehow ease the process to get this item. Knowing the correct person and who to be contacted was vital in order to get the correct parts for this EG9 conversion project.

This set of Gathers EG9 Speaker Set normally come with original Honda Speaker Set or in some version, it come with Gathers original Speaker set - refer picture as below:

EG9 Original Mugen Lip - Post Installation

After went through a week of repair process of the broken corner end, the lips was ready to be installed. The installation process just took around half day - considering the time taken to fabricating new steel holder for the lip.

Painting the lip to red color - same color as the car's color. This is how it looks - the post installation pictures. Really satisfied with the outcome.

Installation of Second Hand Enkei RS - to match up with the red color. So far so good.

EG9 Original Mugen Lips

It was a way back in 2009 when the effort in searching EG9 Original Mugen front lip started. It was not easy. Failed to find it at half-cut shop around Klang, Muar and Kuantan area, the effort was broaden up by searching it via online. During that time, searching was made through e-kereta.com, zerotohundred.com and the famous mudah.my. After months of searching effort, finally the effort ended when one online seller from Sabah advertised it in zerotohundred.com. Straight away contact the seller and closed the deal, still remember on the tag price, it was RM550 including shipment to Peninsular Malaysia which actually quite high during those time. Since it was very difficult to get it, the deal was closed within half an hour even though the seller explained it was in moderate condition with the right corner of the lip was broken / crack.

It was took around 1 week for the items to arrived. The excitement was very high when the first time can see and hold by own hand, the original EG9 Mugen Lip. Even though it wasn't in 100% perfect condition and need to be repaired, but it is an original "Discontinued" Mugen Item for EG9. Only the pure enthusiast will understand the moment & feeling. It was a real satisfaction, you are grabbing it by your own hand now ... before this, you only can see it in the "Google"

The original picture has been lost, but here we share the picture of the 3rd Mugen original lip that we managed to get.

 

This is how it looks when has been installed at the EG9 OEM Front Bumper. Looks nice and fiercer than before. For the Original EG9 Mugen Front Lip, Mugen used ABS material in constructing this legendary front lip.

Mugen Concept - thats the concept that has been opted for this EG Ferio make over. For the exterior look, it only involved the installation of the EG9 Mugen Front Lip and EG9 Mugen Side Skirting.

This is one of the first picture that was triggered the idea to choose Mugen as the make over concept. Still kept this picture till now. It was 8 years back. Time move so fast...

The problem during those days was the difficulty to get the original EG9 Mugen Lip and side skirting. Online marketing was still new to the community back then which make the effort to get it become harder. The scene was change today, where the copied item are easily available online, but the original Mugen Lip is still remain rare and hard to find.

What's Next?

It has been almost 3 years this blog was not updated. The journey of Honda Civic EG9 conversion was actually completed and all the item that considered as rare for the enthusiast have been successfully installed in this car with 100% functionality. Network and knowing the correct person was very vital in completing this project.

In fact, other thing has become more important - time, material and focus have became an issue for the past 3 years. For the sake of completing on what has been started, sharing on what have been done will be continued in the believe that it will benefited others EG9 enthusiast, if not in Malaysia, it could be from other parts of this world.

The conversion concept for this EG Ferio will be based on Mugen Version EG9, which is one of the best after market body kit  for EG9. In Malaysia, it is quite hard to get the original EG9 Mugen body kit which consist of:

1) Original Mugen EG9 Front Lip
2)Original Mugen EG9 Side Skirt

The price for each item as mentioned above is quite high in Malaysian market considering it was discontinued item and very hard to get.
